New Feature: Clusters

February 15th, 2007

I am excited to announce Clusters – a new velospace feature. Simply put, clusters are groups of bikes. Any user can create any number of clusters, based on any criteria.

Look at Clusters: The View Cluster page lists all clustsers. You can see your clusters on the Cluster page.

How-To & Example: Lets say you love pink bikes.

  1. Log-in or Register if you haven’t already.
  2. Open up the Cluster Control Panel in a new window.
  3. Click on “Step One: Create New Cluster” and fill out your cluster’s details.
  4. Next click on “Step Two: Add Bikes to Existing Cluster”.
  5. Then search for pink bikes in a new window.
  6. Click on links in the search window and copy down the number at the end of the URL for any bike you want to add. Example: http://velospace.org/node/1993
  7. Take these numbers and enter them on the “Step 2: Add Bikes to Existing Cluster” page. You can add as many as you like and add/delete more later.
  8. After adding the bikes check out the cluster. Cool!
  9. Edit/delete the cluster whenever you like. Want to add another cluster? Follow these instructions and you are set.
